Project on 12th Avenue
I had the pleasure of working on a den in a lovely home on 12th Avenue. The room is just off the master bedroom. Hardwood floors were installed with a carpet inlay. It looks as though the carpet is an area rug, but it is tacked securely to the floor as any carpet should be. This took out the need for more hardwood flooring and made it so all the flooring in the room was the same level, compared to an area rug sitting on top of the wood flooring. Every piece (sofa, ottoman, side table, console table, pillows, and drapery) was custom made to the space, which was the design challenge. It's actually a small room, and a private room, so the clients wanted the space to function specifically for watching t.v., reading, desk work, and a place to store books and personal accessories. The wedge shape sofa seemed to be the best solution, to provide enough seating and have enough space to move around. I also had a few pieces reupholstered in the bedroom. The color scheme is unique, like the clients, to fit their formal style and very beautiful home.
